2 wk appt

This is probably one of my favorite pics!!


We went to Westons 2 week check up and he was cleared with a clean bill of health! The pediatrician was surprised to see how much weight he gained! Up to 6 lbs 15 oz (up 11 oz from the hospital) and now 20 inches (1/2 inch longer)! He's getting big already! He's been sleeping well and waking up every 3 hours to eat... I'm not having to set my alarm any more, he's actually waking up and making little noises when it's time to eat.

Here's the little Mister taking a nap... He's been super good! We've been crossing our fingers that he keeps it up! I have to wake him up for feedings because he would sleep right through them.

He's HERE!!!

So he's a little early..... But he's here!





He arrived Friday December 12th at 4 pm (exactly 4 weeks early) weighing it at 6 lbs 12 oz and 19.5 inches long. He's doing well besides the jaundice which we have been treating in the hospital just because he's early and my drs are pretty cautious. Check out his duds with the bili lights...









He's doing well and we hope to be home tomorrow (we have only spent one night at the house). I'll be posting some more pics ASAP!

Happy Thanksgiving!! We saw my OB yesterday and she made it official, we will be inducing December 29th! Most likely he will be here on the 30th as I'm going in the night of the 29th. Now it's time for last minute items and getting the nursery organized!! I have another appointment coming up on December 12th so I will keep everyone posted!!

Hi!

So we went to see the perinatologist last week and weren't able to get good pictures of Weston because he had his arms crossed in front of his face the entire time. He's difficult, imagine that. He is weighing in at 4 lbs 2 oz, a whole pound over the average for his gestational age. The Dr said "He is most definitely a big baby". And again, he's going to be difficult. I think it may be the Smith genes, not mine. hahaha! I go back Dec 12 to the peri to see how big he is, the Dr thinks they should induce early because of size. (Which was part of my plan all along.... hehehe) My regular OB (who will deliver) said this long before but now it's confirmed by two! We'll see if he will be a right before or right after Christmas baby... let the countdown begin!

Hello all! Long time no blog. I'll be again soon. We have an appt in Houston tomorrow and will hopefully get some 4D images again. I'll try to scam my way into the same room again. I have yet to figure out what format my belly pictures are in but I'm working on it! We've been diligently working on the house, baby room, deer lease etc the last couple of weeks. It feels like we will forever be working on something! Oh!! And Connie, middle name is Nicholas, like his daddy!

Dr. Appt

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Hurricane Ike screwed my dr appt schedule all up! How inconvenient for me. :) We went to the perinatologist in Houston on Friday 10/10 and had another ultrasound (4D this time). Weston (yes it's final) looks really good. He's already up to 2 lbs, 7 oz, me however, am still under my pre-pregnancy weight but the dr says he's ok with it. I'm definitely ok with it. He's still measuring a week ahead, and that's ok.

I thought the bebe might look like his daddy when I saw his big lips on the last ultrasound, but this just proves it. See for yourself.

New Ultrasound!

Here is our little guy at 21 weeks 5 days. He kept his mouth open the ENTIRE ultrasound. Hmmm... Already like his daddy. Look at his BIG LIPS, again, just like his daddy. Looks like we are going to have a mini Nick! All looks good, he's up to a pound already. We see the perinatologist on Sept 16th and hopefully we can get some 3D ultrasound pictures. I haven't planned a thing and have been procrastinating, so I'm trying to get motivated to make some decisions on bedding, nursery stuff etc. Who knew there would be so many little decisions to make even before he gets here?

It's been a while so I figured I would come on and say Hi!! We have an appointment Tuesday with my OBGYN and will be having another ultrasound, so I will have some more pics to post. Hopefully we can see if he will have Nick's big lips! HAHAHA!! Nick will probably be out of town for this visit so he's missing out! He's in Arlington working on a Freebirds store and has been gone since Thursday and won't be back until probably Wednesday at the earliest. Boo.

I'm officially starting to show! I have a small bump. The big question is, Is she pregnant or did she just eat a big lunch? Hahaha! I'll be posting ultrasound pics next week after the appointment so stay tuned (and hopefully some belly pics in another week)! I can't wait to get a 4D ultrasound and see facial features!

New Ultrasound Pics!!

Here he is! Had this ultrasound on 8/12/2008. Everything looks great, he's growing as he should and the Dr scanned his brain, kidneys, spine, heart etc and said all is well! You can see his fingers right above him... soo cute!

Here is a close up of him sucking his thumb! You can see the two bones in his arm... crazy detail!

Last and certainly not least, the proof that HE is a boy! Nick is soooo proud of this picture. If I let him have it, it would be in his wallett. I hope he doesn't want them same picture when he's born.....

Bedding revised

Ok, I do like this one with some adjustments to the bottom piece of fabric (it looks like a sheet that was draped over the mattress). Maybe it needs a satin piece along the bottom? We have a perinatologist appointment tomorrow in Houston so I will hopefully post some ultrasound pics Wednesday.... Stay tuned!

Ooops

Soooo, it has been brought to my attention that my choice for bedding (see previous post) may have been a bit on the girly side. What can I say? This kid has so much camo in his life ALREADY that I was just trying to expand his decorative horizons...or something like that :) I still really like it ( http://www.modpeapod.com/), but I am open to suggestions. Baby Bedding!

I have found some really, really cute crib bedding. The most recent ones I have found are MUCH cheaper than the previous. Who knew this stuff could cost over 500 big ones? Ridiculous. So, I decided to put my thrifyness to work and found this lady who makes crib bedding and charges around 200 not as big ones. They are absolutely adorable and you can pick the fabrics! I'm big fired up! This is def my most favorite! As you all know, I absolutely despise the commercialized crap they sell for kids. For the sake of offending people, I won't go into much detail. I will say I loathe winnie the pooh, tigger, disney anything... I like simple, elegant and modern. You can gawk at her site and salivate over the cuteness at http://www.modpeapod.com/

Baby Names!

Well, as you all know, Nick and I are sometimes COMPLETE opposites. This also proves to be true with the search for a name for our midget. I love all the contemporary cute names, and he likes, well... Woodrow. So, we have scoured through of thousands of baby names and can agree on one name.

Weston Nicholas Smith.

As we are still searching for the perfect name, It may just be the one. I'll keep everyone posted and be sure to update the masses on Nick's recent suggestions... ie. Nixon. As if you didn't know already, I said no.

Most recent!

Here is the most recent ultrasound... 14 weeks and 4 days. I'll have a new one soon! This visit, about 4 weeks ago, is when we found out the sex.... it's a BOY! Can't you imagine Nick's delight. He is still wearing the YOU KNOW WHAT grin on his face right now. We're very excited and I've been pining over all sorts of a cute baby boy things! Hopefully I can post some of my picks and get every one's opinions.
